Gaelic games in Castlebar centre around McHale Park (photo above) and Castlebar Mitchels' Sportlann or sports centre and their Gaelic Football pitch (photo below) all located at the end of McHale Road adjacent to the Castlebar Industrial Estate.

Mayo's senior football team has been very successful in recent years.

The red and green Mayo colours are a common sight on young and old alike around Castlebar especially as it approaches all Ireland Final time again.
