Waltons Music for Schools Competition. Congratulations to the children and teachers involved in "Gan Teorann". They have been selected as one of the six finalists to compete in the very prestigious Waltons music for Schools Competition. There was unbelievable excitement in the school when the announcement was made by Liz Nolan on RTE lyric FM. The finalist groups will perform at the National Concert Hall on Tuesday, May 2nd. The theme for this year's competition is "Music has no Borders". Our interpretation of the theme has as its goal inclusion and diversity. We named our ensemble "Le cheile" and picked our instrumental, dance and song piece from diverse traditions and art genres to reflect a coming together in our school community - in a world with no borders.
