Sports Activities in Scoil Naomh Aingeal

SWIMMING

During Term 1, pupils in 3rd and 4th class attend swimming lessons in the local swimming pool. Each class has a 30 minute lesson once a week These lessons last for 7 weeks and a follow-up series of lessons will be taken in Term 3. The girls thoroughly enjoy their swimming lessons and look forward to their "swimming day" each week.

TENNIS

During Term 1, pupils in 5th and 6th class attend tennis lessons in the local tennis club. Here the girls learn the skills required to play tennis and are given the opportunity to put these skills into practice on court.

Connaught Schools Gala Swimmimg Competition
Congratulations to the pupils who won medals in the recent Schools Swimming Gala.
Pictured below are the girls who will represent St.Angela's in the All-Ireland Finals in Dublin on 8th December.


Cross Country Competitors

Congrats to the 2 teams that took part in the Cross Country Running Competition held in Westport on Friday 21st September.We were delighted to hear that the Senior team got 2nd place and went forward to the next stage of the competition which was held in Beleek,Ballina on Friday 28th September.Also congrats to Amy who came 8th in the individual competition in Westport and represented the school again in Beleek.

Mini Sevens

Congratulations to the girls on our school football team who won the West Mayo Mini-Sevens Finals on Wednesday 26th of September in Ballintubber. As this was their first year entering the competition it was a wonderful achievement and we wish them well in the next stage - The Mayo Quarter Finals.
