Congratulations to all our Second Class who celebrated their
First Holy Communion on Sunday, May 13th 2012 @ 12 noon
There was confessions in the Church of the Holy Rosary on Saturday, May 12th the at 12:00 noon especially for the communion classes. The day after their first Holy Communion, all the communicants attend school wearing their communion dresses. Their families are invited to join them in celebrating mass in our school hall at ten a.m.

Sixth class are busy preparing for the
Sacrament of Confirmation on Saturday, May 19th 2012 @ 2.00 p.m. in Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar. They all went on retreat which is a very important part of their preparation for this important sacrament.

Comhghairdeas to our
Grúpa dramaíocht who represented themselves and our school so very well 'on stage' in Mullingar last week.

Our
Green Schools Action Day on the theme of Water was very successful. Our Action Day was held on International World Water Day and we learned lots of interesting information about all the water we use. The Junior Infants sang some lovely songs for the school and then 1st and 2nd class sang for us as well. Their songs were all about Evaporation, Condensation etc. and made the Water Cycle very clear for us. Then we had the Water Wise Challenge. It was made up of 2 teams the Water Wise and The Water Wasters!!! Both teams were asked questions but sadly the Water Waster family scored a big ZERO!
Fifth class then sang the famous song "The River"but with a twist. They had learned how to "sign" the song and it was fantastic to both watch and listen to.

HOW WE CAN SAVE WATER
We can all make a difference in helping to save H2O.
Have a bath instead of a shower but be careful as power showers can actually use more water than baths!!!
Dont leave the tap running when brushing your teeth!

Well done to all pupils and teachers involved in getting our
Gairdín na scoile up and running again this year. First class were very busy in the Spring time planting and setting all sorts of nutritious fruit and vegetables including pumpkins!

Third class have been very hands on with their
incredible edibles again this year. Launched at the beginning of March, Incredible Edibles sees schools around the country busy growing carrots, lettuce, potatoes, strawberries and turnips. For more information check out their website www.incredibleedibles.ie

Gaeilge sa Chlós continues every Wednesday. Labhair Gaeilge sa Chlós gach Céadaoin!
