I agree with your analysis of what would happen to a possible constitutional challenge. No matter how right it is it probably wouldn't succeed.
The point still stands. Is this the kind of society we want to live in? Some people here do, personally I don't. I have seen other countries go this way and believe me when you hit the ground it hurts pretty hard.
And on the aspirational nature of the constitution, don't we have enough money now to start realising some of those aspirations. Makes me wonder why we even bothered.
