Yesterday was the busiest day yet on the BB with 5930 'hits' from 118 different visitors and 22 different posters. That may be part of the reason. As the size of the index grows the response slows - hence the need to chop the board every so often and this means that as the week goes on it may get a bit slower until the next chop. Traffic on the Internet itself will affect response time from minute to minute almost as you have to go through your ISP's lines etc. The other possible reason is the load on the server itself - the BB is on a test server at present before being moved on to the main production server - so it's competing with other items under test.
