Most of the excuses are the same, ie "there was drink involved," "good family, never been before the courts before," "associating with adverse influences, " etc, etc. You know, Mr Loftus (the vehemently anti-alcohol coroner) may have a point. I'd say about 90% of the defendants offer public drunkeness as an excuse for thuggery. Strange - offering one crime as an excuse for another.
