It was just very different. After going out in Castlebar, Westport and Galway for so long, it was a bit a culture shock.
Glasses being smashed, a fight involving 6-8 people ( but no security at all). And trying to get a drink was unbelievable. I don't think you could get served unless you spoke Tuam slang. I had to think back to Saw Doctors songs just to get a drink.
How a long for a drink in Castlebar.
