The counter is an attempt at counting 'visitors' to the site. A 'hit' is recorded everytime somebody reads a message on the BB. Most people read five to 10 messages but the counter doesn't increment unless you do a 'reload' or 'refresh' forcing it to increment. Since the beginning of the Castlebar domain we have been counting monthly hits so that we are comparing like with like since May 1997.
