While grateful for your seeming solidarity, MZ, I think we’d better get a few things straight, here.
1) Contrary to what you seem to believe, I do NOT post whatever I feel like. This is a PUBLIC discussion forum and, like all things public, must be used in a responsible manner. This board does not belong to you or me or anyone else. We are guests here and should act accordingly. Or leave.
2) It’s not true to say that some people can say what they like and others get away with it. You’re not the only one to have had messages pulled, in fact most of the regular contributors to this board have had messages pulled or amended at some stage, myself included. This is the nature of public debate. Free speech is all fine and well provided you don’t use that privilege to deliberately offend or annoy others, just for the hell of it. There’s a difference between expressing an opinion (that’s called freedom of speech) and making unfounded, intentionally offensive and hurtful remarks (that’s called incitement to hatred.
3) Further to your “freedom of speech” rhetoric, if you have something to say, or wish to instigate debate on a topic, I don’t think that anyone here will stop you . However, if you wish to simply annoy people, that’s another matter (and you constantly remind us that your sole aim is to annoy us). In fact, judging by the reaction to this posting, people here are more than willing to entertain a serious discussion with you. However, most of your postings are solely intended to scorn or pester others – now who wants to listen to that? If you disagree with something, that’s fine - say so! If you simply post “YOU’RE ALL A SHOWER OF B*****DS.” – well, what do you expect?
4) Finally, I think M has every right to pull a message which deliberately offends anyone, including the people who pay for this site. That’s not censorship, MZ, it’s just the way things work. There are certain boundaries not to be crossed. As time goes by we learn where those boundaries lie, and we abide by them or leave – That’s the way it is; full duck or no dinner!
The only other point I’d like to make is that when you do have something constructive to add, you can be quite coherent, and mostly get a pretty good reaction. Apart from the replies you’ve received to this posting (which is obviously a genuinely held grievance for you) I’m thinking of your posting regarding the carpark in the mall, a while ago – now that really got ya going! Oh, and one other thing. You’re in big trouble with a certain two ladies. You’ve done it this time – “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.” You scorned two of them!
