I remember Quinnsworth had a re-use of shopping bags scheme a few years ago but I found that the bags to be incapable of being used more than once without holes forming in them. You often see in American Films/TV programmes people carrying shopping out of supermarkets in bags made of reinforced recycled paper (Like what large potato bags are made from) maybe we could try that here. I do think we need to find alternatives to plastic bags but im not sure that a 10p tax is the way to go about it and like all new taxes it starts off at 10p and then you have "small increaces" every year until the plastic bags are £400 each ?
