Apologies for dropping out of that thread folks but Ive been away for a few days. Right they put St John's Wort on perscription because of its claimed medicinial properties and the health food lobby claim that Vitiman C could be next. I think Guinness should drop their "Guinness is good for you" and "Guinness for strength" slogans or drinkers will end up having to pay £18 for a doctors perscripton just to be able to buy a pint On the other hand if they spend more than £48 per on the stuff maybe theyd qualify for the subsidised medicines scheme :-) But seriously I wonder what is the relationship (if any) between the Irish medicines board and 1) Doctors who charge £15+ for perscriptions and 2) Multinational pharmacutical companies who produce drugs "in competition" with St John's Wort ????
