Date: Thu, 11 Dec 1997 jaquesd@relay.euregio.net From: jaquesd@euregio.net (Jacques Delannay) Hallo, this letter is written in Belgium, B 4700 Eupen. The reason for the following sentences is, that a man, who worked for your city celebrates his 80 th birthday on december 17 th 1997. He worked in Castlebar building the Castlebar hatfactory in 1939/40. He loged at the mayor of the city sometimes. The mayor's name was Mr.Chambers. We, the family, want to surprise him with greetings from Castlebar City. We found you in the Internet and saw that you are very busy in showing your city. It will be very nice, if you could manage to send birthday greetings for Mr. Mathieu, Bergstreet 123, Belgium 4700 Eupen. You can send the reponse to Jaques@euregio.net Thanks Klaus Buschhüter

Ed: An official birthday card was sent by Castlebar UDC to Mr. Mathieu.

Can you please advise me if Dunne Stores produce and deliver Christmas hampers from Castlebar to Achill?
I would like to send one to my aunt - can you get back to me with the details. A contact and telephone number at Dunne's would be fine.
Thanks

Ya! I was feeling a little home sickhere in Wales so I thought I'd access the net for a while. I forgot Castlebar had a home page. So I've been looking around Castlebar. I feel a fair bit better now. So I will be back again. Dad told me that Ye didn't come first in the competition, its a shame. Well thanks for cheering me up!
See ya Tara Sweeney

Date: Tue, 21 Oct 1997 From: Brendan Granahan Reply-To:bren2@earthlink.net To: info@castlebar.ie Subject: Mayo Web Site Hello to all in Castlebar! What a pleasant surprise to find you on-line---I am e-mailing you from beautiful, downtown Yonkers, just outside New York City. I can see it's going to take some time to go through all your content.... congrats to all who put it together... it's very informative... A small favour if you would---in my spare time I maintain a site dedicated to a parish and village just down the Windy Gap from you: Addergoole and the village of Lahardane. Would you be so kind as to add a link from your site?

Sun, 12 Oct 1997 Martin Patrick Walsh writer768@aol.com My family came from Castlebar , specifically Old Village Road, Derrycoosh, Raihns, back in the 20s I believe, and this is a great site to learn about my homeland. Thank you very much for the excellent site!
Sat, 11 Oct 1997 James Higgins higginsj@indigo.ie Well done on doing so well in the Information Age Competition. With people like Finian Joyce on your team you were unlucky not to win it outright. James
Sat, 11 Oct 1997 Frank Flynn frankf@mediacity.com Very nice. You could put up more photos. The ones you have are nice but they're mainly of buildings. What I recall from my last visit there was the wonderful people. You don't seem to have many photos of them. During my last visit you were hosting the Cullchie (sp?) festival if that dates it for you. It was wonderful to come back if just for a minute. Thanks. http://home.earthlink.net/~bren2/parish.html Among others, there is an article on a certain General Humbert that might be of interest to you. Kind Regards, Brendan Granahan

25 Sep 1997 Darina Molloy DarinaMol@aol.com It's a shame about not winning the Information Age Town. But well done on a great campaign - at least you didn't have to use a professional agency to prepare your submission.
