Expansion Announced At Castlebar Firm.
Pamex Limited, the Castlebar based pharmaceutical marketing company established in 1995 by Tom Murphy, the former General Manager of Syntex Phrmaceuticals Limited, has announced a number of new appointments.

Ms. Noreen Mc Dermott, Dip. Comp., from Curradrish, Castlebar, has been appointed Office Manager to oversee all administration at the company. Noreen previously worked with Mayo Editorial Electronic Publishing Services Limited and brings her extensive computer knowledge and general administrative abilities to bear on the ever increasing workload at Pamex.

Cork based Ms. Fionnuala Bourke, B.A., a native of Maryland, Castlebar has been promoted to the position of Sales Manager with the company. Fionnuala has many years experience in the pharmaceutical sector having previously worked with Syntex Limited and for the past three years as Business Manager with Pamex.

Susan Crowley B.A. (Economics), who joined Pamex Limited over three years ago as Representative in the Dublin region, has been promoted to the position of Senior Medical Representative South Leinster

Three new Medical Representatives have been appointed, Keith Donohue, North Leinster, Emer Mc Carthy, Munster Region, and Kiltimagh native Elaena Staunton West Region, will be responsible for promoting the complete range of Minims Single Unit Dose Preservative Free Ophthalmic products and GelTears for Dry Eyes, to Doctors and Pharmacists throughout Ireland, as well as promoting the 100% natural shaving oil, Total Shaving Solution, which is now produced in County Mayo.

Step Forward
According to Managing Director Tom Murphy, "this is a major step forward for our small company based here in Castlebar. When one takes into account the fulltime employess plus a number of part time, we now have over 10 people directly employed by Pamex Limited. Our newly expanded sales team will be principally involved in increasing our pharmaceutical sales, under the direction of Fionnuala Bourke, while at the same time, we will continue to seek out more business for our over the counter products.

 Shave The World Campaign
According to Tom, his "shave the world campaign" continues to gather momentum. "Yes indeed, we are on a mission to shave the world with Total Shaving Solution! Not many people know that Total is now produced for us by John O’Sullivan and his experienced team at Cosmetic Creations in Claremorris. The packaging is assembled by the dedicated staff at Rehab Care in Castlebar and the finished goods are warehoused by Kog Logistics, Ballinrobe Road, Castlebar, while our specialised printing requirements are looked after by Cashin Print, Castlebar, so it is very much a Mayo effort all round"!

For Tom and his team at Pamex Limited, this month is particularly pleasing in that Total Shaving Solution is being launched in Greece, Cyprus, Spain and Holland and already the signs are that this Mayo made product, which was launched on an unsuspecting public in 1996 is well on the way to shave the world.

Tom says that negotiations are at an advanced stage to launch Total in a number of other countries including the United States, Australia and New Zealand, and if they are successfully concluded, that will mean a further boost to the economy of Mayo from this small Castlebar based firm.
