Co Senior Hurling Championship
The Mitchels are due to take on Westport in round 1 of the Co Championship next Sat in Westport. However please check for time and other details later in the week.  Having had a lack lustre Junior campaign, the Mitchels are hoping for an improved performance over the course of Senior Championships.  Westport are through to the Genfitt Cup Final where they will meet Ballina and firing on all cylinders at the moment.  However the lads are not overawed and with the benefit of some strict training and coaching are now ready for the fray.  Apart from the effort the lads put in on the field, your support would be much appreciated.

Connaught Final
Best wishes to the Mayo Senior and Minor teams in Galway next Sunday.  Here’s hoping they can do the biz.

Camogie
The girls are training hard for their championship games in the near future.  With a good turnout for training over the last few weeks, expectations that the recent improvement both in skill and fitness will continue and some good results are expected.  Indeed any girl wanting to take up the game should come along any training evening in McHale Park.

Hurling on the Green
Monday sees the start of the Hurling on the Green project and a large turnout is expected.  The coaches and all involved would be delighted to have your support. Who knows you might even learn to pick or puck a sliotar.
Once again we will have three coaches involved in the project.

Steve Mc Keogh from Clare is a member of our senior team and is training our U-16 panel.  He is a student at G.M.I.T in Castlebar.

Maeve Murphy from Tipperary plays senior camogie and coaches our U-10 players.  She is also a student at G.M.I.T in Castlebar.

Martin Greaney from Breaffy plays senior hurling with Castlebar and Mayo.  He is a student at G.M.I.T. in Galway.

Club Lotto
We seek him here, we seek him there, we seek him everywhere.  Ray and the lotto are still going strong even though they may be two or three pubs ahead of us at the moment.  Hopefully we will be able to track him down, unless his Leitrim team have scooped the jackpot.  The club needs your money, so all who have been hiding their 2 euro in the piggy bank please get back online and pay up.

Team Photos
Some recent team photos of underage players are to be found on the Castlebar.ie web site.
