David, who hails from Ballyhaunis, Co. Mayo, excelled himself and fought off tough competition to bring home a silver medal (light middleweight open class) from the World Police and Fire Games (WPFG), which were held in Québec, Canada, between June 26^th and July 5^th 2005. The WPFG is the second largest international sporting event after the famed Summer Olympics and David is now looking forward to competing in the next round of games to be held in Adelaide, Australia, in August 2007.
