KNXUS Ltd is marking the anniversary of its County Mayo Contact Centre by holding its November Board Meeting in the area.
The company, which employs 173 people in Castlebar, has become a success to the town, which over the past few years has suffered with employment problems.
The event, which will take place on 26th November, will see heads of the company, including Chairman the Rt. Hon Harry Herbert, meet with heads of County Mayo's Council and The Irish Development agency.
Since its arrival to the area in October 2002, the company, which has been described as a 'call centre boutique' has almost tripled the original workforce and brought some major top-name clients to the area. KNXUS use their highly trained expert staff to take calls for the likes of Virgin Atlantic, Oxfam and Teachers Building Society.
KNXUS also have contact centres based in Malvern and Banbury, its original site, but it is the Castlebar site that has seen the biggest growth and development.
Sales Director, Mike McGuckin commented: "We are delighted with the success that we have had in Castlebar, we have found that the potential workforce here is of a very high calibre and are optimistic that as we expand the area will provide us with the team we need".
It is expected that the meeting will bring the good news of the creation of a further 60 new positions by February 2004. The Irish Development Agency is backing the company. IDA Regional Manager, Jim Murren said: "We are very pleased with the benefits Castlebar has experienced since KNXUS' arrival. It has brought a permanent source of quality jobs to the area".
