With just over 150 days remaining until the arrival of 128 Venezuelan athletes and coaches, Castlebar Host Town committee is busy preparing a programme of events and activities for the Venezuelan delegation.

This will provide the athletes with an opportunity to rest, recover from jet lag, acclimatise to the Irish weather and experience a warm Castlebar welcome!

This Host Town Programme requires the skills, commitment, enthusiasm and support of many people. Volunteers are needed to participate in this unique event and share the feeling of hope, optimism and community pride that the Host Town Programme inspires.

A Volunteer Information Night will be held in the Failte Suite, Welcome Inn Hotel on Monday 13th January at 8pm. To be eligible to volunteer you need to be over 16 years on 16th June 2003 and have some free time to give between the 16th and 20th June.
