Thirty Italian students marked the completion of their English Language Course at Parlez Pronto Language School Castlebar with the presentation of Certificates at Daly's Hotel on Friday last.

The students - who came from the Abruzzo region of South - Eastern Italy - were presented with their Certificates by the Chairman of Castlebar U.D.C Mr. Johnny Mee. He welcomed them to Castlebar and expressed the wish that their visit would help create new links between Ireland and Abruzzo.

The group's study tour was organized under the auspices of Consorzio Agora, the Leader Group for the Abruzzo region in co-operation with the South West Mayo Leader Company and also involved a series of visits to various projects in Mayo which have been supported under the Leader Programme.

Cllr. Mee complimented Parlez Pronto on the quality of its English Language programmes and said that the school was a major asset to the town and county. The leader of the Consorzio Agora group, Ms Maria del Carmen Alva Guerrero, said that her company was extremely pleased at the outcome of their visit to Castlebar. She said that Parlez Pronto had provided an excellent service with four different levels catered for in four separate groups. She also paid tribute to Mr Paul Kirkpatrick, South Mayo Leader and Sr.. Maureen Lally of Tochar Valley Network, for their help and assistance.

Ms. Jennifer Healy Guiblain, Director of Studies at Parlez Pronto, complimented the students on the level of fluency they had achieved during their course.
