Trinity Sunday is another of the marvellous feasts of the Christian year. During the period of the Old Testament, God was known to the Jews as one. In the course of his earthly life Jesus frequently spoke of his unique relationship with the Father, saying at one stage that he and the Father were one. With his return to the Father and the sending of his Holy Spirit as the means of his presence among his Church the full picture emerges: God is three and God is one.

Most of the official prayer of the Church is addressed to the Father, following the example of Jesus himself. The Son has been known by many titles: each one of which reveals something of the mystery that cannot be fully grasped. These include: Redeemer, Saviour, Son of Man, Son of God, Lord, Christ. The Holy Spirit is the presence of God among his Church until the second coming of the Lord at the end of time.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end, Amen. The Grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
