The Kingship of Christ is not  just something to be believed, proclaimed and praised.  It is something to be made real in our         lives and in our society.  To establish his Kingdom is the work of  God.  But he makes us co-workers with him in the building of his kingdom.  We build his kingdom by simply letting God do his work in us and through us.  It is a question of letting God be God.  It is a question of letting Christ be Lord.  The earliest profession of Christian faith was “Jesus Christ is Lord”.  It will not do just to say this.   The words are true themselves.  They must be made true for me.  I must make Jesus Christ my Lord, Lord of my life.  He will be our King and leader when we become his subjects and followers.

He will be King of our society when our society becomes one where justice, love and peace regulate relationships between men and groups.  It is a Christian duty to work for a just society, a society where love is built into laws and structures and social systems, a society marked by peace between social and religious groups, peace in industry, peace in neighbourhoods.
