Weekend of Celebration 15th & 16th September

 

In this centenary year of the Church of the Holy Rosary, the Parish Pastoral Council have invited the many and varied voluntary organisations in the Parish, to participate in a weekend of celebration on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th September in the Family and Parish Centres.

This weekend will provide the structure through which these organisations promote their gifts and talents through communicating the story of their work to all.

The weekend will be launched on Sat. 15th Sept. at 4.30p.m. by Archbishop Michael Neary, with a special Mass of celebration in the Parish Church at 7.30p.m. 

The weekend will continue on Sunday 16th from 10a.m.

New school year

Now that the new school year has begun, we wish students

and teachers God’s blessing.  May the Holy Spirit be their

guide and help throughout the year.

 

 

Children’s Liturgy Group will be resuming after the summer break on Sunday 16th Sept. at the 10a.m. Mass.  All children between the ages of 4 and 8 years are welcome.

A meeting of the Castlebar Voluntary branch of Western Care takes place in the Vocational Training Centre, Pool Rd., Castlebar on Thursday night, 13th September at 8.30p.m.  New members always welcome.

 

 

 

Breaffy Ladies GAA - Junior Tournament takes place today Sun. 9th, Breaffy Pitch at 5.30p.m. 

Teams: Breaffy, Castlebar, Achill and Bonniconlon.  All support welcome.

Padre Pio weekend at Knock Shrine 15th & 16th September

Holy hour on Sat. from 7.30p.m. to 8.30p.m.  The Holy Hour will be given by Fr. Jim Buggy.  Music on Saturday will be provided by the weekday choir from Castlebar.

Mass on Sunday celebrated by the Papal Nuncio at 2.30p.m.

The Mayo Mental Health Assoc. is a charitable voluntary organisation and promotes good mental health and assists the mentally ill.  These are worthy aims and deserve our support.
