As a parable, it has been the subject of many reflections, homilies and it was the inspiration for Rembrandt’s powerful painting “The return of the Prodigal Son”. In the story the father is a powerful image of a gentle and loving God. Disregarding our own feelings of guilt and shame, God waits patiently for each of us to “come to our senses”. Like the prodigal, each of us is aware of our unworthiness but let the mercy of the Father be our hope. 	NOTICES A Listening Ear Each lunchtime 1p.m. – 2p.m. during Lent, a priest will be available at the Church of the Holy Rosary to listen to anyone who would like to talk about their lives, their struggles, spiritual or otherwise.
