NOTICES

 

Centenary Thanksgiving Mass

The Novena will end next Sunday 7th October with a special centenary Mass at 6p.m.  The Archbishop, priests who have worked here in the past and priests from the deanery will be present.  Afterwards we will proceed to the Travellers Friend for light refreshments, music, dance and celebration.

At the 11a.m. Mass on the 7th October, the centenary Mass composed by Sr. Margo will be sung by the parish choir.  We would like to congratulate Sr. Margo on her brilliant achievement.  After that Mass the new mosaic of our Lady of the Holy Rosary over the front door of the Church will be blessed.  The artist Walter Michel will be present.

 

 

Launch of Parish Book

The launch of the Parish book “The People and Parish of  Castlebar down the ages”, by Tom Higgins, will be held on Wednesday October 3rd at 8p.m. in the Welcome Inn.  All are welcome.

 

Breaffy Millennium Fountain

Open air Mass and blessing of the fountain on Sunday September 30th at 5.30p.m.  All are welcome.

 

Sacrament

No Eucharistic Ministers are required for the Reposition of the Blessed Sacrament during the Novena.

Spirituality of Relationships (One day seminar)

The pace of change has left many of us feeling as though our lives are like a “fast forward movie”.

The new poverty is “not enough time” for ourselves or our relation-ships with others.  This one day seminar offers us a period of time out to focus on our relationships with: self, family, friends, community with God as circles of nurturance, en-joy-ment and creative living.

First Friday

Next Friday is the First Friday and  the priests will visit the sick at the usual times.  There will be evening Mass at 7.30p.m. in Breaffy Church and Ballyheane Church.

Mayo Male Voice Choir have resumed practice for the new season in Davitt College, every Thursday at 8p.m.  New members are welcome.

 

 

St. Joseph’s Young Priests’ Society  monthly meeting will be held in St. Gerald’s Parish Centre, Chapel St. on Tues. 2nd Oct. at 8p.m.  New members welcome.
