Who says Castlebar is boring? Almost 50 years after it last burnt down the old County Cinema nearly repeated the trick. Smoke was seen coming from the deserted building on 12 June 2001 and a couple of fire tenders were called to the scene from the fire station just around the corner. It appears that a few small fires had been deliberately set inside the building but luckily these were quickly extinguished.
