Yes Butch from Brownville we are few and the answer to the Boards survival was pointed out
early on by a gentleman who pleaded for more
photographs.
Take the Parish Magazine which for years has
been dominated by Mc Hale Rd photos and contributions.It too suffered from a small
pool and whilst it had the photos there was no
interaction with its readers i.e. the good
burgers of Chaislean a Bharraig.Photos were
left with blanks and missing names were guessed but never answered.
This board has answered that deficit but except
for the Lawrence Collection we are left as you
so astutely point out with Main St mainly.
But the biggest problem is that the people with
the greatest store of knowledge will never ever
see or use the internet.The younger age group
take to new technology like a duck to water
but 95%+ of the older generation will have to be happy with the Parish Mag once a year.
Nevertheless I believe if photos can be scanned
or made available to this site it will explode
into new life.
Its been great up to now but needs a new lease of life sooner rather than later.
Time to pop back to the BB and register a vote
for MM.
