I thought Rush Street was called that because it's where after running down Staball Hill / Thomas Street, the French forces 'rushed' the English army back in 1798 !?! Maybe not . . .

In Paddy Moran's pub there's a wooden carving on the front of the bar of a pig, it's at waist height so it's a little difficult to see when the place is crowded . . it's in rememberance of the pig market that once bustled outside and inside the doors of the pub !!!

Also I would take issue with 'spiceloft' in regard to the 'waft of stale porter' comment . . I don't think that the Moran family would or could have ever served up a stale pint of plain !!!
