Joe McDonald, Castle St. also played; Andy Leonard`s brother, Busty; Christy Cresham; Peter Duke, a Bacon Factory employee; Christy McHale from Moneen, a stonemason, played in goal and lined out for an Irish Team on at least one occasion; JJ Mullen; Andy Redmond...
I remember Hughie`s barbershop. Always a cloud of smoke. The wireless was always tuned to the BBC for the racing results and music from the "light" orchestra. My turn for the short back and sides after Hughie had let all the men go before me. The short wooden board was placed across the two armrests of the chair. " Up you get Bud" and there I sat with feet on the seat of the chair, and my head at the right height for Hughie to start clipping. After a short while and with my head looking like a hedgehog, and parting with 1/6, I was outside trying to get irritating hair clippings out of nostrils and ears.
