That triggers another memory,both olifactory(I love that word,had to learn it as part of the list of nerves in the body in nursing school)and musically.The Nurses home I lived in in Dublin was directly across from Guinness's brewery.Every night we fell asleep listening to a night worker rolling the kegs and singing My Deliah(Tom Jones)The smell of the hops was not very pleasant.I think it was hops.
Our male patients were given a bottle of Guinness a day.Dr Steevens Hospital was Arthur Guinness's hospital and his patients were well taken care of.Sometimes we gave a female patient a bottle,if we felt she would benefit,perhaps from the iron.Is there really iron in Guinness?
Great part of Dublin,great people and great friends I made there.
