On the 23rd to be exact Mayo won its last All Ireland senior.Anybody
outthere even the JeanGenie have any memories of the excitement and
celebrations.Speaking of the JeanGenie if you had the chance would
you relive that moment or possibly a day at the Races and maybe enjoy
a glass of wine or stout with Monsieur Humbert in 1798.
What about a meeting of the Land League in Dalys and meet Michael Davitt.
Or call into Lord Lucan for a sherry or a trip down to Turlough House
for an evening with the Fighting Fitzgerald.Then again if youre not
squemish experience a hanging on the Mall( you could maybe catch the
Fitzgerald chap before he popped his clogs)
Anyway my favourite woukd be the meeting that Michael Collins attended
where he came to sell the Treaty and guns were drawn.Might have a better
sense of history then.
Good to see all back and everything in working order.
