I don't know her real name. I think she lived somewhere around the Linenhall / Newantrim Street area. Is there anyone out there who has any further details......maybe Butch? or JDP or Murrisk ? My memories of her are from about the early sixties and she was a familiar figure then around the town and as black as the ace of spades. That brings another character to mind too, the drover named Lydon. He used to work for the cattle dealers and some of you might remember his wedding! He was 70 years of age and it was all over the Connaught at the time and a big talking point. I remember him driving the cattle to the fairs and helping to load them into the trailers. He had a big overcoat and always had the pipe in his mouth. Anyone remember him?
Magnolia, you're getting close to the location, but I'll still never be as old as you are, or Butch or Murrisk or......but I have a reasonably good memory and love this town!
