John, Owen, Mick, Marian, Roisín, James, and Pat Flannery are grand children of John Flannery and his wife Mary McHugh of Cahra, Islandeady. Mary McHugh was an aunt of Tom McHugh who established the Welcome Inn. She was also the aunt of Mrs. Pat Brady who ran a small sweet shop at the post office steps. Pat Brady was a carpenter in St. Marys. Their youngest son, also Pat, shared a birthday with Murrisk and Séan Bourke. He drowned in the lake at a 'regatta' in 1956(?)
