Strange the thoughts that return unbidden. Capricious memory! Walsh from Westport - now I finally have a name. I had quite forgotten the red and silver spinners,as well as the German sprat and the Mitchel spinning reels, fishing of the pier and of the rocks behind the wood, trying to spear flat fish in the tidal ponds and streams, the Flannelly brothers and the togs. And 'brew-up' on the sheltered strip of sand behind the pier. Thanks for the extra memories Joxer. Was the "old house on the Hotel farm" the house that sat among the trees next the wood ? I remember it being rented to holiday makers. Wonder if its the same one ?
