We have come a long way. However it is interesting to note that many rural water supply schemes regularly become polluted due mainly to the proliferation of bungalow bliss throughout the countryside. Bad planning, poorly constructed septic tanks etc. As far as I know, no inspector from a planning authority inspects the adequacy of the installed sewage system. Totally different in the UK where they have an inspection procedure and don`t have drinking water pollution problems in rural areas.
