THIS IS THE DAY: A favourite from the Missions of the 1980's if I recall ,along with "He's got the whole world" and such like trendy ones that could be accompanied by bearded dudes with guitars. Báidín Fheilimí is featured on "The Gangs of New York" - There's also quite a good version of it on Sinead O'Connors new album "Séan Nós Nua". I believe The West's Awake is the favorite song of Pee Flynn and he's been know to give a renendition on occasions. And finally I too remember the copies in purple ink from Tom Higgins in Breaffy NS - I believe the machine was called a Duplicator and churned out copies with each turn of the handle, from an original prepared on special paper not dissimilar to Carbon Paper.
