The lady in the picture reminds me of a woman named Reilly, a sister of the late Jack Reilly, building contractor, Station Road, Castlebar, but I could be wrong. I remember the Tierney family on the Station Road. Their father, Joe Tierney, worked on the clerical staff of Mayo County Council. He had a brother, Johnny, and sister, May, worked in the Bacon Factory clerical staff, married Mattie Armstrong, who had a shop on Main Street, Castlebar, before my time. He sang in Stephen Garvey's Gilbert and Sullivan operas. His favourite song was 'Mate of mine.' The Tierneys were very nice people.
