I remember Santa in the Town Hall. He was on the stage and you walked out from the side to get your present and bag of sweets. I think Santa was actually Tom McGreal R.I.P. the postman from Turlough Rd. because the real Santa didn`t come until Christmas eve and he always drank the bottle of stout and ate the slice of porter cake which my mother left for him.
Or was the Town Hall Santa really Garda Jim Lohan R.I.P from Gallows Hill ? Not sure. Anyone out there shed any light.?
