Eggs and rashers for the Mayo slashers, hay and oats for the Kerry goats. Dan Callaghan from Cashel, Turlough, cut one of his fingers when working in Castlebar bacon factory many years ago. After being brought to the County Hospital, a doctor asked him, 'What do you work at, Mr. Callaghan?' Without blinking an eyelid the bould Dan replied, 'A bit like yourself, doctor, killing a few and curing a few.' Nice one, Dan, and he'still going strong, no better man.
