Seamus Chambers, one of nature's gentlemen; Pa Fallon, a lovely quiet man, two of the cast of the pageant (the Fallons and Blakes of Castlebar are mentioned in 'The Playboy of the Western World,' by John Millington Synge). So many more who work in the community, people like John Redmond, editor of the Parish Mag, and closely connected with the meals on wheels and Castlebar Social Service Council; Bernie Murphy with his nice CRC programme; Ernie Sweeney for his work in the field of literacy; the lads in the Rugby, Soccer and Gaelic clubs who nurture the youngsters. And, of course, Larry McHale, Paddy Kilgallon, John Hamrock, Joe Daly (a super master of ceremonies)and Sean Horkan. There are many hardworking people in our community. All deserve the thanks and praise of all. We have a wonderful town with great people. Let us never to anything to damage its good name.
