For most of us Collooney disappeared when the bypass to Sligo opened. Here is a chance to revisit one of the West's by-passed towns and see what it's really like. Houses are being built left right and centre but here we concentrate on the essential Collooney. The twisty windy road that snaked beneath the railway bridge was your first introduction to Collooney. In the old days you could not stop in the middle of the road and get out to take a photo like this - without being mowed down.
