Mayo Concert Orchestra invites you to its annual concert this Thursday evening 3 Mayin the Welcome Inn Hotel Castlebar.

The orchestra has a very exciting programme of light classics lined up. Under the baton of musical director George Lee, Mayo Concert Orchestra will play a delightful selection of music including Strauss' Roses from the South, Frewer's Mexican Medley, Mascagni's Intermezzo (from Cavalleria Rusticana) and Offenbach's Minuet and Galop.
They will be joined on the night by a number of guest artistes including harpist Annette Griffin and Note-orious 4 and a capella four part harmony. Annette Griffin is one of Ireland's most talented recording artistes, renowned for her many church concerts and in constant demand, nationally and internationally. Annette currently hosts a spellbinding show at Ashford Castle that includes harp and voca performance.
This is the first time Mayo Concert Orchestra will have Sligo's Note-orious 4 performing at its concert. Note-orious 4 are the current IABS National Female Quartet Silver Medallists and consist of Berna Kavanagh (baritone), Una Jackson (lead), Marie Conway (tenor) and Susan Leonard (bass). They also sing with the female Barbershop chorus ‘No Half Measures' and the unique combined male and female Barbershop chorus ‘4 Bars Later'. They will present a repertoire of easy listening and entertaining songs in both barbershop and a cappella styles.
The concert will start at 8pm with tickets available from the usual outlets (Gavin's on Spencer Street, The Castle Book Shop, Collin's Music Shop and Downtown Records) or from members of the orchestra.
