"You can take back a punch or a slap, make up for that. Not so easy with a bullet though, you know?"
Young Dubliner Eoin (Seán Doyle, Fair City) seeks refuge with his Irish American cousin Gene (Aonghus Óg McAnally) and Gene's girlfriend Perdita (Leah Minto) in New York after a joyride gone wrong at home. Part crime thriller, part love triangle, their story unfolds over one oppressively hot summer in Spanish Harlem. Cultures and loyalties cross over and collide in unforgettable performances, as relationships shift against a backdrop of the 90s club scene, discovery, loss and ultimately, an act of desperation. A searing insight into the emigrant experience based on the playwright's own time in New York, "RUN/DON'T RUN" is a provocative and accessible new play from Stewart Parker Trust Award-winning writer Gary Duggan (RTÉ's Amber, Fair City), who has had previous plays produced by Fishamble (Monged), and The Abbey Theatre (Shibari). Directed by acclaimed director Aoife Spillane-Hinks.
"Duggan writes very well... a deft storyteller with a gift for pacy, punchy narratives and for quick clean characterisations." Fintan O'Toole, IRISH TIMES
