Position 1
Title of Internship : Sports Public Relations Officer
Department where placement is offered: Mayo Sports Partnership
Description
The intern will gain practical experience in a busy sports office. Some of the key experience will be promoting events & general news through social media channels i.e.Facebook etc & designing press releases, posters etc. The Intern will be required to update websites & other mediums continually transmitting the message of positive participation in physical activity. The intern will receive formal/informal training in the following: health & safety, interpersonal & communication, project delivery & other relevant training which will be identified during induction. Project administration & promotion skills. On completion the intern will have attained skills in: Project Communication & Promotion, project delivery, networking with various organisations.
Skills Requirements
Some interest in sport is desirable but not essential. The person should have excellent IT and Communication skills. They should have the ability to work off their own initiative in delivering desired goals. The person will be required to report on a weekly basis to management. (Note this is not a Sports Development Position). Applicants must supply suitable character references.
Education Requirements
Other - A public relations or similar qualification would be desirable with excellent IT skills. Knowledge of photoshop or similar poster/flier designing software would be an advantage.
Position 2
Title of Internship : Assistant Sports Development Officer
Department where placement is offered: Mayo Sports Partnership
Description
The intern will gain practical experience in a busy sports office. Some of the key experience will be assisting in the delivery of key participation events such as Come and Try it Days, Women in Sport Projects, Walking/Cycling initiatives and general inclusion Sports Projects. The intern will receive formal/informal training in the following; Health & Safety, Interpersonal and Communication skills, Project Delivery, Project administration skills i.e. bookings, PR, website and social media updating and other relevant training which will be identified during induction. On completion the intern will have attained skills in; Organisation and group management skills, project delivery, networking with various organisations. Applicants must supply suitable character references.

Education Requirements
Other - A basic third level or PLC Sports Development course. Good knowledge of MS Office and computer applications; Word, Excel and Outlook office suite would also be required.
