It’s AGM time again and nominations are now being accepted for the officer’s positions. Only fully paid members have the right to vote at the AGM so therefore please check that your membership is up to date.

Remember membership is of vital importance to the Chamber as we can only be a voice for the businesses we represent. As a special incentive we are now offering a once off €50 membership from now to the end of December for businesses that wish to get an idea what the Chamber of Commerce is all about. If there are any businesses you feel might be interested in this please let them know.

Why not take advantage of the computers in the community access centre. We have free training courses available so learn how to use your computer more effectively in the office. We also have a number of places left on the Internet strategy training course. This course valued at €400 is coming to an end and as such there are free places left. Are you interested?

We have recycle bins for all your empty printer/photocopier toner cartons and cartridges. For all cartridges collected the Lions clubs will receive a

Contribution to be spent in the area. Please do your part for both the Lions Club and the environment by bringing your old cartridges to the office. We will also take old mobile phones.

The local telephone directory is now available and can be purchased directly from the Chamber of Commerce office or from a number of outlets around town. Special discount is available for multiple orders. Thank you to all businesses that supported this Chamber initiative.

Are you looking for new staff? Why not contact Work Web West at 094 43008? This is a supportive employment initiative and they have a number of highly qualified people on their books. Where necessary a job coach will accompany the employee on a gradual fading out process. Many employers in the area have had positive experiences using this service.
