INext Outing June 19/20 (Sat/Sun).....Connaught T & F Championships in Dangan (Sat) & Sligo I.T. (Sun)....check Fixtures for full details. Remember the Community Games are being run in local areas during May !!....check exact dates with your Local Area Organiser.
March/April 2004 .......4 Gold medals at All Ireland Indoor Championships in Nenagh Sally Maughan took 3 National medals in her first outing at the Indoor Championships in the U 12 age group...Gold in 600m, Silver in both 60m & Long Jump. Steven Walsh retained his 60m Hurdles Title in spectacular fashion, equaling the Irish Record in the U 15 age group in a time of 8.82 seconds. David Joyce & Daniel McNicholas made it 4 titles in 2 weeks for the Club when they both took 1st place in their 800m races at U 15 & U 14 level. To cap a wonderful results sequence for the Club, Sean Brophy made a welcome return to form finishing 3rd in the U 16 800m in a very competitive race
February 2004......David & Steven on International Duty David Joyce & Steven Walsh were chosen to represent Ireland at the A.A.A. Championships in Birmingham following trials in Nenagh early in the month.Both competed at U 15 level with David coming 5th in the final of the 800m in a personal best time of 2.05 mins. and Steven taking the Silver medal in the 60m Hurdles in 8.82 seconds. This outing was a tremendous experience for both athletes and Castlebar A.C. and the Mayo Co. Athletic Board are extremely proud of their achievements
