The first quarterly club meeting open to all club members will be held in the Welcome Inn Hotel on Friday 6th April at 9 p.m. As there are a number of important developments to report on, all club members are asked to make a special effort to attend. Back to topIn response to the huge demand for ladies football in Castlebar, a meeting has been arranged in the Welcome Inn Hotel on Wednesday 4th April at 9 p.m. to attempt to form a team. If anybody is interested in playing or in helping out, please come to the meeting. Back to topSenior team The seniors played Corofin in a challenge game at the weekend. Junior team Ballycroy 1-4 Castlebar 2-17 Castlebar maintained their good start to the season with a second win in the league when they travelled to Ballycroy last Sunday and defeated the home team. Castlebar led at half time by 0-7 to 0-2 and ran out easy winners in the end. Best for Castlebar were Brian McLoughlin, Timmy Byrne, Liam Raftery, James McGovern, Paul Flanagan, Seamus Marrinan, Keith Gillick and Brian Healy. All team managers have been allocated their training times. If any team manager wishes to swap times with any other team, the same procedure applies as last year i.e. contact the appropriate team manager. Castlebar play Tooreen in Aughamore in the first round of the Genfitt Cup on Saturday next at 6 p.m. As defending champions, Castlebar will be anxious to make a good start to the campaign. Registration Day for Under 14 and Under 12 players Due to the large numbers of children involved, a registration session for under 12 and 14 players will be held in An Sportlann on Friday 6th April next from 6 - 7 p.m. Parents are asked to come along and pay membership during this time. It is important that all players are registered and covered by proper insurance before any matches begin. Members of Bord na Nog will be available during this time to talk to parents and to explain the details of the additional voluntary insurance available to all players. Membership is only £10 (single), £20 (family) for the year. The additional voluntary insurance is £10 per player. Back to topThe annual flag day for Bord na Nog will be taking place around the town on Saturday April 14th. Members of Bord na nOg are asked to make themselves available on the day for a few hours. Any parents who are willing to help out should contact Brendan O'Hara at 23485. Your support would be appreciated. Under 10 training Next week training continues indoors on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. in De La Salle Hall, Newport Road. New members are always welcome.
