Senior team

The Division 1 league game against Knockmore was postponed last weekend at the request of Knockmore. It has been rescheduled for the weekend of April 7th/8th.

Junior team

Castlebar 3-11 Ballinrobe 0-4

Castlebar opened up their Division 4 league campaign with a convincing win over Ballinrobe in McHale Park on Sunday last. Castlebar led at half time by 1-6 to 0-2 and were in command all the way through. Best for Castlebar were Brian Malone, Wally Flynn, Richie Feeney, Brian Regan, Ian Walsh, Pat Ludden , Paul Flanagan, and Keith Gillick.

Next weekend the senior team has a bye in the senior league.

Junior team

Next weekend the junior team is away to Ballycroy.

Minor team

Our minor team defeated Clonbur in a challenge match at the weekend.

The first round of the minor league against Moy Davitts is due to be played next Sunday 1st April in McHale Park.

Timetable for pitch bookings

The timetable for the booking of the top pitch has been finalised and is available in An Sportlann. All team managers have been allocated their training times. If you wish to swap or change times with any other team, the same procedure applies as last year i.e. contact the appropriate team manager. If anybody wishes to book any other times, you should contact the Park Manager Joe McCabe at 087 6684737.

Senior Executive meeting

A meeting of the senior club executive will take place in the Welcome Inn Hotel on Tuesday evening 27th March at 8.30 p.m. All members are asked to attend.

Registration Day for Underage players

Due to the large numbers of children involved, it has been decided to hold another registration day for all underage players in An Sportlann on Saturday 31st March next from 10 – 1 p.m. Parents will be written to during the week and will be asked to come along and pay membership during this time. It is important that all players are registered and covered by proper insurance before any matches begin. Members of Bord na Nog will be available during this time to talk to parents and to explain the details of the additional voluntary insurance available to all players.

Training times

Under 12 training

Training for the under 12 team will commence outdoors next Saturday in McHale Park at 11 a.m. So all players are asked to bring their football boots and extra clothing in case the weather is poor.

Under 10 training

Next week training continues indoors on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. in De La Salle Hall, Newport Road. There has been a great response so far with big numbers attending. New members are always welcome.
