Tuesday 6th March commencing at 8.30 p.m. All members are asked to
attend. Like many other sporting events around the country, the county finals of Scor which were to take place in Hollymount on Saturday 10th March next have been cancelled due to the foot and mouth scare. A belated happy 50th birthday to our former secretary Cathal Reynolds who reached the half century last weekend. Word has it that he celebrated the occasion in style last Friday night in the Welcome Inn Hotel. Well done Cathal, the next fifty are easier! Glad to hear that Joan Feeney, our Secretary of Bord na Nog is making a good
recovery at home after her recent illness. Everyone in the club would like to
send their best wishes. A reunion of all those who survived last year’s trip to New York in March 2000 will take place in Mick Byrnes next Friday night at 10 p.m. We look forward to seeing you there. The first quarterly meeting of the club will take place in the Welcome Inn Hotel on Friday March 16th at 8.30 p.m. This will be followed by a social evening. All club members are asked to attend. A reminder to everybody that club membership is now due and is only £10 for both adult and juvenile players and for non-playing members. County Board tickets are on sale to club members at a cost of £60. We are appealing to all club members to buy a ticket. Monies raised will go to the further development of football and hurling within the club. All sections of the club have been issued with tickets. All club members are asked to return any sold tickets as soon as possible. Training times Senior football: Wednesday and Friday at 7.30 p.m. Junior football: Wednesday and Friday at 7.30 p.m. Minor team: Tuesday 7.30 p.m. and Sunday morning 10.30 a.m. Senior Football Fixtures At this stage it is unclear if the first round of the county minor league which is due to start on Sunday March 18th will actually be played.
Senior Hurling team training Training continues on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10 p.m. on the Astra pitch at
Celtic grounds. All players are asked to attend. Thanks to everybody who supported our table quiz in McGoldricks lastThursday night. The winning teams were: 1st - James Rocke, Christy Conlon, Eugene Connolly, Stephen McLoughlin 2nd – Eamon Mongey, Benji Smith, Eugene Caulfield, Nigel Jennings Thanks to the "Three Wise Girls" Ger Devaney, Aideen Brett and Ruth Niland who set the questions and helped to organise the quiz. So all players are asked to bring runners and £1 for the hall. Under 10 training Training for the under 10 team begins next Saturday in De La Salle Hall, Newport Road at 10 a.m. Training will be indoors until the weather improves.
