OUR ACTION DAY - 3rd of December 2003

On December 3rd 2003, we held our Action Day. A variety show took place in the assembly hall and guests were invited. It was a busy day but everything went according to plan. On the same day a big clean up was done by Rang a 3. 150+ daffodils, which had been donated by the pupils parents', were planted at the school bus stop. Also the Senior Infant classes planted bulbs in their classrooms. Here you can see some of the girls in "action" on that day.

The Infants sang a song called "Let's make a Rule, Keep a tidy school". They were beautifully dressed for their performance - very colourful.

Rang a 1 recited a poem called "Litter Bug". Great work was done at home preparing these costumes.

Rang a 2 sang a song called "Connected"( an adaptation of a 2nd class Religion Song !) which outlined how every day things are all connected to the earth.

ABOVE: One of our 5th classes made these wonderful hats from recycled materials and they had a Fashion Show on Action Day.
BELOW: One of our 4th classes recited a poem on Action Day.

The BIG "Clean - Up" was carried out by Rang a 3. They brought in their wellies for the occasion and were given gloves by Mayo County Council.

The planting of 150 daffodil bulbs took place later that day.The bulbs had been donated by the parents of the pupils. The planting of these bulbs was to commemorate the arrival of the Sisters of Mercy to Castlebar 150 years ago.
