SHOEBOX APPEAL

Our school made two hundred or more shoeboxes this year. There were certain things you couldn't put into the box like guns or soldiers because it would remind them of the wars. The things that you were encouraged to bring were soft toys, balls and gloves. You were asked to put a bar of chocolate or a packet of sweets. Before we went home to make our boxes, we watched a short video of how good it would be if you made a box for the children. The boxes would be sent to Brazil, Lithuania and poor countries. Lots of children put together shoeboxes from junior infants to sixth class. Everyone

put a lot of effort into making the shoeboxes and it would be great if we could do twice as much next year. I hope that all the poor children will like the boxes that everyone made.
